STUDIOTECH IN CUBA

Cuba is going through the most exciting times. The opening of its borders is creating lots of new opportunities: for Cuba itself and also for many businesses around the world.

Studiotech, which is already active in many parts of the world, did not want to miss out. In October and November 2015 their representatives attended two consecutive exhibitions. From 25 to 30 October, the Cuban Radio and TV Convention and from 2 to 7 November, the Feria Internacional de La Habana (International Fair of Havana - FIHAV).

The first event was organised by ICRT (Instituto Cubano de Radio y Televisión). It was specifically focused on broadcast technology. Specialists from over 35 countries attended workshops and lectures and there were stands from more than 10 nations.

Studiotech had a stand in the Belgian Pavilion at FIHAV. At this fair 150,000 people had the occasion to see 4,500 exhibitors in different sectors from 60 countries. In addition, the State Secretary of the Brussels-Capital Region, responsible for Foreign Trade, Cécile Jodogne came to support the Studiotech team.

Studiotech was most encouraged by the interest shown in its products such as the Mobile Studio and Mobile NLE. In particular, the visitors were impressed by Studiotech’s strength as an integrator, capable of creating anything from OB vans to complete infrastructures for television and radio broadcasters.

The Studiotech team is following up a number of potential business opportunities from these events. “The transition from analogue to digital in radio and television technology for production, archiving as well as transmission brings lots of opportunities” explained Operations Manager, Cristina Rites, who was in Havana for the second week.

The following article appeared in the Belgian newspaper La Libre Belgique on 6 November, about Studiotech’s participation at FIHAV.
